It is a daunting task to plan and prepare for the Hajj journey. One is often confused about what to pack for Hajj and what to leave.
After all, everyone wishes to perform Hajj with comfort and without any hurdle. Before setting out for the journey, one must make a
complete packing list for Hajj travel and think about the essential things to pack for Hajj. We have made a special list of things
to carry for Hajj to make the Hajj packing easy for you. Here is the suggested Hajj Checklist and Packing Guide for you:
Pocket Quran and Dua book.
List of Duas for yourself and others!
For Men: Ihram (2 pieces of plain white cloth) and belt to hold Ihram. Get a thicker cloth for colder weather and bring an extra pair in case the first gets dirty.
Lots of underwear if you don’t want to do laundry. Laundry gets more expensive during Hajj season.
Bring some detergent if you are planning to wash your clothes yourself.
Umbrellas are absolutely necessary for the heat.
Small flash light for Arafat/Muzdalifah.
Men: Shaving razor and scissors for cutting your hair if you plan to do it yourself.
Vaseline to avoid chaffing of skin (men should apply on inner thighs to avoid chafing in their Ihram).
Small journal to write about your experiences or goals.
Sunglasses are highly recommended because the sunlight is harsh.
A smartphone or tablet that can connect to wifi to call and message family back home.
Phone charger.
Universal adapter.
Toilet slippers.
Hand sanitizer.
Light jacket or stole for nighttime (if needed).
Extra copy of passport (Saudi government will take all passports and give them back after Hajj).
Small light foldable prayer mat.
Protein and granola bars — bring extra to share with others.
A cheap wrist-watch that you don’t mind getting dirty.
Eyeglasses if necessary. Avoid wearing contact lenses since there is dust everywhere.
Travel packs of tissues.
Extra plastic bags for dirty laundry or other needs.
Water bottle to fill up at airports to keep you well hydrated.
A suitcase that is easily identifiable. Try to avoid black or if you have a black suitcase then, tie a ribbon around it so that you don’t confuse your luggage with someone else’s.
Unscented deodorant.
Unscented baby wipes.
Unscented bug repellant.
Light drawstring bag to keep your shoes in while you are inside the mosque.
