What is the Ideal Time to Go to Makkah?

Although, Makkah, being a holy place, is flooded with tourists all round the year but the best season to visit Makkah, depends on a number of factors. The Hajj pilgrimage involves an extensive procedure, which involves travelling to Makkah too as one of the step. Makkah, one of the oldest and most populated cities in Saudi Arabia, is also the birthplace of Islam.

Entry to holy places of Makkah is restricted to non-Muslims. Some places in Makkah are truly iconic and worth visiting. The best time to visit Makkah could be divided into two parts, one by climate and the other by pilgrimage.

Summer Spring (March to May)

Spring feels very warm with high temperature and humidity. Temperature ranges from 112.1°F (44.5°C) and 94.3°F (34.6°C) with warmer temperature in the later months. Rain is non-existent with zero days of precipitation per month. Spring is good time to visit Makkah and the second busiest in terms of tourism.
Summer Summer (June to August)
Summers are extremely hot with high temperatures. These months see the least precipitation. June to August is the slowest season for tourism in Mecca, so accommodations and other tour activities may cost less than usual.
Winter Fall (September to November)
Temperature ranges from 110.7°F (43.7°C) and 95.1°F (35.1°C), which feel warmer than comfortable due to the humidity and wind. It rarely rains with approximately 0 to 1 days of precipitation per month. Tourism is fairly slow during these months due to the weather, so hotels may be available at lower prices.
Winter Winter (December to February)
Winter is the best time to visit Makkah and the busiest season in terms of tourism. Weather is enjoyable with temperature ranging between 94.4°F (34.7°C) and 86.8°F (30.4°C). On average, it rains a very small amount with precipitation of 0 to 1 times per month.
